Absolutely. We have engaged with the club from the start and this will continue. We have agreed a representative of the club will sit on our committee, but not hold any office bearer position. The football club have been incredibly supportive of our aims and have been willing to help, where possible, on a practical level.
1881 Club has been formed with the primary aim of generating additional money to be used on developing New Dundas Park. Every penny raised, after operating costs, will be used for this purpose only.
We have tried to ensure our costs are minimal but there are some necessary costs that require payment, for example, setting up a registered entity as well as website domain purchase. Any additional costs that arise throughout the course of the season will be reported to members on a bi-monthly basis.
Every major decision taken will require member approval. This includes the release of money for New Dundas Park as well as approval of annual accounts and committee appointments. For the most part, this will be done on a simple One Member One Vote majority of votes cast. Any major proposed changes, for example amending the constitution, will require a two-thirds majority.
We know that everyone's circumstances are unique, with different demands on their finances. Our main funding stream is monthly contributions, which can range from a minimum of £10/month up to a maximum of £18.81/month. However, we also accept one-off donations as well as contributions through our regular fundraising events, such as our 'Pie and Pint' events.
We have tried to keep this as simple and as fair as we can. When a vote is called, we will allocate a vote to every member who contributed more than £100 in the last 12 months.
We want to create a lasting legacy for the club and the community. However, we know this can only happen with your support as a member. Every member will receive a unique memento for their support as well as public acknowledgement and individual thanks in the football club program.
We believe in order for the football club to continue to grow, we need to have a stadium that is fit for purpose. Currently, the football club has to divert significant levels of income away from the playing side to the ground. If we can remove some of that burden, not only can we help to improve New Dundas Park, but it leaves more of the football club's money for investing in players.
We work closely with the club to identify additions and repairs to the ground. Many of our members are also active volunteers for groundwork. Whatever skills you have, you can make a difference. This is another vital resource for the club and can save significant expenditure costs. If you are interested, please get in touch.
